When Elsie was in her early 20, she was determined to study medicine and make it possible for other women to have careers in medicine. She also wanted women to be able to access medical care easily.

  • Think of an issue facing women today and discuss it in your unit.
  • Challenge yourself to do something outside of your comfort zone; something you wouldn't normally do or haven't done before (i.e. cold water swimming). It can be as big or as small as you want.
  • Set a target of something you'd like to achieve and make a plan. What do you want to do? How will you prepare for it? By what date do you want to achieve it?
  • Create a poster, placard, or leaflet covering an issue important to you.
  • Learn about a famous person who has spoken out about an important issue and share your findings with your unit or friends.
