Elsie displayed a glorious combination of enthusiasm, strength, purpose, and kindness. There were many stories among poor people about Dr Inglis, her skill, and her kindness. Less known about Elsie is her work within the local charity sector, where she was a member of governing council Edinburgh Charity Organisation (ECOS) for almost 10 years.
