DISTRICT COMMISSIONER VACANCY FAIRMILEHEAD

Colette Sanderson’s role as FMH district commissioner has come to an end. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Colette for all her hard work. Having a District Commissioner is key to the smooth running of the district, so we must now look to fill this role.

The main emphasis of it is to support and enthuse the adult team of leaders and volunteers in FMH. Full training will be given, and the District Commissioner (s) will be supported by the Division Commissioner and also a Mentor.

The role might suit someone who is unable to commit to a weekly Unit meeting, or someone who has not been involved in Guiding before but who has an interest in the Movement and who relates well to  adult volunteers.  Self-nominations are also welcome, so if you feel that this is the role for you, don’t be shy!  Training is given and a Mentor is appointed so the Commissioner should never feel that she is alone or working in isolation.

If you can help please reply directly to Lindsey Devin, County Commissioner edincounty.lindsey@gmail.com

12 weeks: 10 July 2024
Girls take what they do in guiding with them as they grow up. Everything from working in a team, to taking the lead, to speaking out on issues they care about. It helps them develop the skills and confidence to become the young women they want to be. ’
