🏹 Archery Open Days 

Bookings are now open for Archery Open Days at Bonaly will be on the following dates:
  • Saturday 20 April
  • Sunday 28 April­
It will cost £2.50 per young member and it’s open to Brownie, Guide and Ranger units. Unit leaders would need to attend to maintain GG ratios and they would need to collect consent forms.
Sessions will be 1.5 hours, times are as follows:
  • 09:00 – 10:30
  • 10:45 – 12:15
  • 12:45 – 14:15
  • 14:30 – 16:00
Maximum of 16 young members per session. If groups have more than 16 who want to come, they can either:
  1. Book 2 sessions; or
  2. Just book one session and split the group/time in half, 45 minutes per group.
A suggestion would be whilst one group is doing Archery, the other could use the sports/games equipment on the field/in the barn at Bonaly at no extra cost.

Once you have submitted the form you should receive an automatic email reply with a copy of your form. If you don’t receive this please check your spam/junk mail.

Please then make payment of £2.50 per Brownie, Guide or Ranger.  You do not need to pay for adults or section helpers.

Payment can be by cheque payable to “Girlguiding Edinburgh” and sent to: County Events, Girlguiding Edinburgh, 16 Coates Crescent, Edinburgh, EH3 7AH or by bank transfer to: 80-11-20 00169825, with your unit name and “CE” as reference.

🐻🦁🐯ANIMAL ANTICS – Saturday 11 May 2024

BOOKINGS ARE NOW OPEN FOR ANIMAL ANTICS

WHO FOR: Rainbows and Brownies
WHEN: Saturday 11 May 2024
WHERE: George Heriot’s School
COST: £5 per Rainbow and Brownie (includes all activities, a badge and ice cream)

TIME: 10.00AM – 12.30pm OR 12.30 – 4.00pm

KIDS ROCK DISCO: 12.30 – 1.30pm for everybody

ACCESSIBILITY: the event is wheelchair accessible

ACTIVITIES: We are hoping to have some live animals and/or birds. Other activities will include animal themed workshops, games, arts amd crafts, and side shows.

You can book for the morning or afternoon session. Everyone can join in the Kids Rock Disco.

Places will be allocated on a first come basis once payment is received.   

From the interest shown we are expecting a high demand for places.

If you wish to change your numbers once you have submitted your booking form please email Jackie. Do nor submit a new booking form.

Please use the attached consent form for all young members including young leaders who are under 18. You should complete the details of where your group is to meet etc (see attached notes) before sending it to parents.  You must collect the forms (paper or electronic) and retain them until after the event.

You will need to set up a Home Contact for your group (see notes). If you do not have the details when you submit the booking form please email them to Jackie once she confirms your places.

🌳WILDSIDE NATURE

Donald Malone is a zoologist and explorer with global experience of research into animals, birds and ecosystems. Through his passion for the environment and the living world he aims to deliver exciting and dynamic workshops which inspire young and future scientists!
Wildside Nature are running Easter holiday sessions at various locations throughout Scotland including Harlaw, Pentlands by Balerno on Tuesday 2nd April.
The sessions run from 10am-3pm and are suitable for children from around 5-12 years of age. These are drop-off and pick-up sessions, so no need for parents to stay present during the days, but they are welcome to do so if they wish. The final date for payment of Girlguiding Subscriptions is 28 March.  Cheques should be in the post by the end of this week.  Payment can be made by card up to 27 March.
If your unit does not have sufficient funds to pay the amount, please contact Lesley on admin@girlguiding-edinburgh.org.uk to organise a loan from County for your unit.

Accounts
As trustees of our units, we are all legally responsible for the preparation of accounts for our unit. Girlguiding takes this responsibility very seriously.
You should have lodged a copy of your accounts with County (via District and division commissioner or direct to admin@girlguiding-edinburgh.org.uk).
If you are a registered charity, your Annual Return and Accounts require to be completed and uploaded by 31 March 2024.
Failure to do so will result in further investigation into the circumstances and could lead to a Financial Restriction put on you as a leader by Girlguiding UK.
