County Outdoor Days 2017
Girlguiding Edinburgh held a series of Outdoor Days 2017 for each section at Netherurd, Girlguiding Scotland’s Training Centre near West Linton. It was brilliant to see units from all over Edinburgh coming together for lots of outdoor adventure and fun.
A massive thanks to all on our Outdoor Team for organising such fabulous outdoor fun for us all!
Rainbow Day – Sunday 7th May 2017
It was a fantastic day of fairy fun at Netherurd for our Rainbow Day. Our Rainbows made Fairy Gardens, had their faces painted and did lots of singing. ‘Baby shark, do do do do do do…’ Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a special day.
Brownie Day – Sunday 4th June 2017
Our Brownie Day had an owl theme. Brownies made owl masks and owl cones, had their faces painted and even got to hold and touch the owls. Thank you to everyone who made the day possible.
Guide Day – Sunday 11th June 2017
175 Guides and Senior Section descended on Netherurd to complete the ‘Go For It Netherurd Challenge’. They competed in Highland Games; completed an adventurous activity (archery, zip wire, low ropes, caving or team challenge), made a raft to sail down the stream. Paddling in the stream seemed to be the biggest hit – all so young at heart! Thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a big success.
And remember you can take your girls back to Netherurd again to try out activities, go on pack holiday, holiday in the house, or camp out under the stars www.netherurd.co.uk/
