We’re Going on a Unicorn Hunt…
1st and 3rd Blairgowrie Guides came to Edinburgh on a mission – to find as many unicorns as possible! They were taking part in the Hidden Edinburgh Challenge organised by Girlguiding Edinburgh to celebrate the centenary of guiding’s Senior Section.
Their day began at the Royal Bank of Scotland building in St Andrews Square. It was a brilliant start because the girls were given a free tour of this amazing building.
Then the girls took in all the sites – The Scott Monument, Edinburgh Castle etc.
They used the tour bus to look for unicorns all over the city. One of our Leaders is a wheelchair user so the bus was the perfect way to get around – we could all hop on and off the bus whenever they spied a potential unicorn.
At the castle 9 girls made their Promise just after the one o’clock gun was fired. Plus one of the Leaders was surprised with her 20 Years Service Award. What a great setting to celebrate some really special guiding moments!
Jenni Robertson who organised the trip said: “thank you so much for organising such a fun and interesting badge. The girls LOVED every single minute.”
