Guides

Guides is for young people aged 10 to 14 years old. Edinburgh has 1,423 Guides—we counted!

By becoming part of a worldwide community of young people who learn together and share skills and experiences, Guides have the chance to get out there and do something really different.

At their regular meetings—plus camps, holidays, and other events—Guides can try a wide range of exciting activities: from arts, crafts, and music to adventurous outdoor activities, giving them the opportunity to develop personally as individuals or as members or leaders of a team of four to eight other girls (called a Patrol).

With the support of an adult Leader, Guides choose and run some of the activities themselves using themed activity packs.

Members can extend their knowledge and skills by working towards interest badges.
