Trefoil Guild

Guiding for adults—fun, friendship, and making a difference!

The main aim of the Trefoil Guild is to support Girlguiding. The organisation provides friendship, fun, and activities for its members, as well as opportunities to support guiding and the community.

Membership of the Guild is open to people aged 18 years and older who agree to support the guiding ethos—including the pledge to help other people. Many Trefoil Guild members have been or are members of the Girlguiding or Scouting movements.

In Edinburgh, we have six Trefoil Guilds that meet around the city (see Trefoil Guild Meetings). The Guilds normally meet once a month and hold interesting evenings with talks from various organisations, as well as local Rangers who have been involved in Guiding projects.

We also like to get out and about and learn new skills, and particularly enjoy visiting units and helping them out with interest and challenge badges and other activities.

Girls take what they do in guiding with them as they grow up. Everything from working in a team, to taking the lead, to speaking out on issues they care about. It helps them develop the skills and confidence to become the young women they want to be. ’
