Stanemuir House
Stanemuir is set in beautiful heathland 25 miles outside of Edinburgh. The house sleeps up to 24 people and is fully wheelchair accessible. It’s the perfect setting for outdoor adventures with grounds that are perfect for setting up scavenger hunts and trails.
The large living/dining area with a log burning open fire has plenty space for crafts and indoor activities too.
Soft archery and geocaching can be booked for the length of your stay at the cost of £10 per activity. These are leader lead activities with fully illustrated instructions and risk assessments which are sent with booking confirmation. Payment for these are added to your final invoice.
Our resurfaced driveway allows easy access and has parking inside the main gate suitable for a mini bus and further parking nearer the house for cars.

Booking Conditions
- Bookings confirmed and deposit sent within 14 days
- Non -returnable deposit of £150. Cheques payable to City of Edinburgh Guides
- Cancellation after 8 weeks prior to arrival – minimum charge will be applied
- Balance, booked activities and any extra electricity costs to be paid within 14 days of your stay

Onsite Activities
Select in advance on your booking form and appropriate charge will be added to your final payment. Both activities are leader lead with full instructions and risk assessments issued after booking.

Badges
Stanemuir and Girlguiding Edinburgh badges are available and cost £1.00 each. They’re kept in the leader’s room and an “honesty box system” is used for sales of these. All we ask is that you to enter the number of badges for your group in the notebook and inform our booking secretary. The total cost will then be added to your final invoice.
Things you need to bring with you…
• Sleeping bag, bottom sheet and pillowcase
• First Aid supplies
• Cleaning supplies – no bleach products please!
• Tea towels, hand towels, cloths etc.
• Toilet/kitchen rolls, tissues, handwash, pot cleaners
• Bin liners, cling film, foil etc.
• BBQ equipment – firelighters, charcoal, matches and tongs
• Craft equipment – scissors, pens, glue etc
• Torches for emergency use
General Information
Keys
Details of collection point and key safe code will be sent by booking secretary.
Immersion Heaters
Switches are in the cloakroom – use both on arrival. The shower in the accessible bathroom is powered separately and the switch is outside bathroom.
Rubbish and Recycling
The red wheelie bin takes landfill waste (in black bags) and recycling (not bagged).
Open Fire
Logs are provided but you’ll need to bring matches and firelighters At the end of your stay the fire should be out, ash pan empty and log basket filled. Please don’t leave cardboard or paper in the house for burning on the open fire.

Forms to note any problem areas can be found in the Health and Safety folder.
On Departure
Please complete the checklist and return to booking secretary, noting any problems you have encountered during your stay. To allow air to circulate leave windows open on the first catch then lock.
Check all external doors are closed.
