County LGBT+ Support Advisor

Girlguiding Edinburgh is on the look out for a brand new County LGBT+ Support Advisor.

At Girlguiding Edinburgh, striving to be an inclusive and impactful organisation is at the heart of what we do. We recognise that it isn’t just about the skills that you can bring to the table, but also the unique perspectives that come from your background and life experiences. This role is open to all members of Girlguiding Edinburgh aged 18+.

We are particularly encouraging applications from members who identify as LGBT+ or who have lived experiences to this role.

Role description
1. To promote LGBT+ Inclusions at all levels across GG Edinburgh
2. Show understanding and enthusiasm for supporting all LGBT+ members so they feel included
3. Coordinate and signpost the delivery of advice and support to our volunteers and members about LGBT+ matters
4. Provide advice to local, district and division volunteers in the delivery of LGBT+ Inclusive guiding
5. Keep up to date with new resources and programme initiative and encourage members to use them
6. Promote relevant training
7. Work with GG Scotland to celebrate and support our LGBT+ members
8. Be aware of LGBT+ events such as pride and celebrations and help to plan GG Edinburgh’s involvement
9. Be able to collect, share and celebrate examples of inclusion best practice
