Queen’s Guide Award Advisor

The Queen’s Guide Award (QGA) is the highest award you can earn in Guiding and is available for members aged between 16-30 years old. Girlguiding Edinburgh is looking for a Queen’s Guide Award Advisor to help support our members undertaking the award.

Term: 3 years 

Main responsibilities:

  • Supporting QGA candidates, by answering questions and checking in with progress;
  • Registering the award on candidates’ GO record;
  • Supporting and answering questions from mentors;
  • Encouraging Rangers (young members aged 16-18) to complete the award;
  • Keeping candidates up to date with relevant opportunities;
  • Sending record books to HQ for sign off;
  • Arranging for QGA brooches and certificates to be ordered and presented; and
  • Keeping up to date with changes in the QGA programme.

You will need to regularly liaise with:

  • QGA candidates and mentors
  • Guiding Development Advisor
  • Ranger leaders
  • Scottish and UK QGA Advisors
  • QGA staff contact at Girlguiding UK
  • Girlguiding Edinburgh Outdoor Team
