Going Away With
The Outdoor Team are here to help leaders looking to gain their residential qualifications and are happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the new online Going Away With: edincounty.outdoors@
Please note: you must have module 4 of the leadership qualification recorded on your GO records to enable access to the online modules. Without this you cannot progress.
Before you enrol for GAW online :
- You must speak to your commissioner about your plans
- Submit the Girlguiding Edinburgh application form (add a link to the new RQN I’ve attached to this email)
- Enrol on the course
We will contact you once you’ve enrolled and a mentor will be allocated to you.
The scheme is self-paced and doesn’t have a set period for completion. However, Girlguiding UK recommend allowing 6 – 9 months from the point of starting your online training before the date of your residential. Some e-learning needs to be completed before you submit the Residential Event Notification form.
They also recommend submitting your final accounts and feedback documents within 3 months of completing your residential.

Residential Event Notification Forms (REN)
Completed REN forms in the County must be sent to ggedinburghren@gmail.com This email address is accessed by all the relevant County Advisers. When submitting your REN form to this address you should also copy in your relevant Commisioner/s.
Please download and use the correct forms from the Girlguiding UK website, as well as read and follow the guidance carefully.
