It's not just financial accounts we should be thinking about, it is also the time that our Marketing committee begin to gather the photos and stories together which reflect on a wonderful guiding year.
 
Please help by sending your unit update to your Commissioner, who will them submit a report from your entire Division. Also please send any good photos on a disk to Nicola McDermid at EHQ. Then take some well deserved time off and enjoy your summer holidays. 

On 1st June, volunteers from Girlguiding Edinburgh helped out at Edinburgh's Race for Life. We helped 7.500 woman across the finish line by distributing bottles of water, goody bags and medals. The Edinburgh race is expected to generate an astonishing £491,000 for Cancer Research UK.

A great day was had by everyone and it was fabulous to see a huge number of our guides, leaders and friends participate in the race. However the group were most impressed by Anne Mack from Harlaw Division who ran the race and still had enough energy to join the group and volunteer a further two hours of her time! Thanks to everyone who supported the cause.

Please note that there was an error in the May County Newsletter regarding our Scottish Charity Registration Number. The "O" letter should have been a number thus "0". Therefore our charity number is actually SC01371.

The 2009 Girlguiding Edinburgh subscription will be £22.50. Full details will be available in the September county newsletter.

Remember that this is due to be paid for each member on 22nd February, so please consider how much you will charge within your unit during the 2008/2009 year in order to pay the subscription on time. Please take the opportunity to do your planning now and consider if you could use Gift Aid to fund your payment.

This week Rainbows across the UK celebrate their 21st Birthday. To help promote the birthday celebrations you may see girls in Edinburgh going to school wearing their red uniforms. Also we have lots of birthday activities planned which will include Teddy Bears pic-nics all across the city.
